Greetings from Liverpool

The national flag of the United Kingdom is generally called the Union Jack, from its use on the jack-staff of naval vessels. It consists of the cross of St. George of England and of St. Andrew of Scotland, which were combined in 1606 on the Union of the Kingdoms; the cross of St. Patrick of Ireland was added in 1801. From Andrew.
