Castle Clinton National monument, New York, NY

Castle Clinton National monument was built to protect New York Harbor for the War of 1812. Later, Castle "Garden" served as a premiere entertainment center, the city's first immigration depot, and the city's first aquarium. In 1946 was almost destroyed, only walls were saved and in 1975 they restored it to its original appearence. From Yolanda.
