Aquileia

Panoramic postcard of the archaeological area in Aquileia, which used to be an ancient Roman city.

The Cathedral of Aquileia is one of the most important edifices of Christianity. It is a flat-roofed basilica. The floor in basilica is enirely covered with mosaic.

Pieces of mosaic in basilica's floor. You can walk over it on glass table.

I bought this cards on my trip in 2009. Both archaeological area and basilica are under UNESCO heritage.
